What if an item I have borrowed is recalled? What does "recall" mean?

Answer

  • After you have had an item for 14 days it may be recalled to the Library for use by another patron or for other reasons.
  • The original loan period will be shortened and a new due date will be assigned.

  • You will receive either an email or a print notice informing you of the change.

  • Items not returned by the new due date are assessed a fine of $1.00 per day until the item is returned. Replacement charges and a processing fee may also be assessed for unreturned recalled items.

  • Items needed for Course Reserves are subject to immediate recall and must be returned within seven days of the recall notice date.
