How do I place materials on e-reserve?

Answer

The library is no longer offering electronic course reserves as a library service. If you have digitization needs that the library can fulfill, please submit an ILLiad (Interlibrary loan) request for items needing digitized for upload to your blackboard course; however, we cannot scan an entire book, regardless of the number of pages.

The following are ITS Knowledgebase articles on how to add articles to your Blackboard course shell. If they have questions or need assistance, you can also contact ITS:

ITS Help Desk at (618) 650-5500

Via email at help@siue.edu

If you need additional help or support, please visit these on-demand resources available from the ITS Knowledgebase.  Below are a few ILDT knowledgebase articles that might be helpful to you in uploading your electronic items:

  • 61490: add a web link to Bb – This will allow faculty to link to journal articles from databases and to other online sources.

  • 54503: link to a one drive file or folder – Each Blackboard course shell has a maximum quota of 2 GB. This might seem large, but many factors contribute to the overall file size of a Blackboard course shell, so faculty are encouraged to store documents, spreadsheets, images, and files in OneDrive and then link to individual items or folders from Blackboard.

  • 83011: course quotas – This provides more information on course quotas. This article provides options to avoid problems with quotas.
